Automatic winder

A winder which can automatically switch coils while winding. It consists of a arm with two coils. A pitch guide and measurement arm to adjust the winding speed to the input speed of the product.

Operation

A rotation arm is mounted on the base frame. On the rotation arm there are two mounting positions for microtube reels or detachable coils. At one position the reel is fully wound and at the other position the full reel can be removed and a new empty microtube reel can be placed.

The rotation arm is provided with two spines. On the spines the microtube reels can be placed or the removable coils can be used to wrap reels without the microtube reel.

The reel positions the hose next to each other during repositioning. The displacement per revolution is adjustable to be able to wrap various hose diameters.

The dancer is a column with a number of fixed and a number of movable circulation wheels. The dancer has two functions:

•     The first function is to control the winding speed
•     The second is buffering the microtube while changing reels.

At the first startup the microtube has to be entered manually, after which the winding process can start. When the machine has reached the desired number of meters, the rotation arm rotates the full reel to the removal position and the empty reel to the winding position. The hose is automatically repacked and after the rotation the machine starts winding again.  

The full reel can then be manually removed and an empty reel placed back. The wrapper is not equipped with a tying machine or any other option to bind reels.

Control

The machine is PLC controlled and equipped with a clear terminal to check all settings through a simple menu. By using a terminal various settings / counters / speeds / branches / units off and off switching etc can be done easily.

The cabling, connected sensors and components are installed in a universal way so that they can be easily located and replaced in the event of a malfunction.
